Raja Ravi Varma's "Descent of Ganga" and "Demigod Jatayu vs demon Ravana"

Strictly speaking, the late Raja Ravi Varma, best known for his paintings of scenes from Hindu epics, was not a fantasy artist. But considering the influences of traditional mythology on modern fantasy, the artist whose work shaped the Indian imagination of the epics is IMHO still relevant.
